ReplyDeletei dunno, this band is wack.. i remember seeing them and i had to leave. One guy had a hitler mustache. trying to be weird does not make your music great.

Every band is a something wannabe. Any band that sounds remotely like Devo gets slammed for it, yet if we sounded like the Stooges or Joy Division, we'd be lauded. I think we owe more to Zolo music as a whole than Devo specifically, but if you wanna know--yeah, we like Devo.
ReplyDeleteMost rock music (and a great deal of synth music) is "old hat". There are VERY FEW bands doing anything completely new. What do you expect?!
Trying to be weird? If you knew Zom, you'd know he can't help being weird. We like weird, we are weird, and we don't need to try.
And, yes--this is Seth Nemec's band.

I agree with Zoms but also, their music just plain stinks. there is weird and there is "trying to be weird" ..."trying to be weird" is just another saying for "it sucks"

ReplyDeleteim on the left on sh2 - zoms frenchman in back facing out the window on drums - zom philmapster on the right playing the "alternative controller" - and phil philmapster in the middle on sh101.
ReplyDeletei like criticism too! our music is definitly not intended for universal appeal and consumption - so im not bothered that "anonymous" people with no personality dont like it.
