hee hee.
ReplyDeleteThis made me grin a bit due to the guy's excellent 1950's 'matter of fact' professional presentation.
Just the facts mam.
neat.
ohhhhh....so that's how you pronounce Doepfer....
ReplyDeleteok, now i got Doepfer, Buchla & Moog pronounciation down pat! no more looking like a fool
He is funny. The video editing is like Museum of Techno.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, what about Mono/Poly?
ReplyDeleteMono/Poly is pronounced "Mono-Pory" very fast. Not "Monopoly" like the Milton Bradley board game.
ReplyDeleteActually it is pronounced like the game. : ) There's an article in one of the recent issues of Keyboard Magazine where the makers mention that. I was surprised when I read it. I still have a hard time saying Monopoly. So, add that one to the list.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't "the needs of the many" apply to name pronunciation as well? Millions of people say Moog with the "oo" sound and Vangelis with a soft "g." I'm sure thousands of people say Mono/Poly like the two separate words that are actually written on the machine, and the hundreds (dozens) of people who have heard of Buchla say it with a long "oo" instead of his freaked-out "book" pronunciation.
ReplyDeleteAs to Doepfer? His stuff is basically "dope for" all the budget-concious addicts out there.
hä ?
