Update: More info on Synthmuseum.com.
I always wondered what a set of these would fetch on ebay. Sadly, I won't know. Three noise generators? I'm sure you could make a sound patch on these, but, you'd have to expend oen of your filters to make a tone ..... I'd pay $ to find out what the circuitry inside them was, though. Are they just potted modules, or are there accessible components in there?
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching this one to see if anyone bites at the (perhaps) excessive starting price.
While I love the look of a lot of the Arp stuff, this has to be one of the ugliest modular design concepts I've ever seen :)
ReplyDeleteIt's probably pretty cool though. I still have yet to build a 4072 VCF for my modular but have been drooling for that tone for a while.
yeah i was checkin these out. too bad it's a wavstudios auction:

Yikes, that's some crap negative feedback. The all-caps, frantic retorts don't help his case, either.
ReplyDeletei really like the design idea of having them all separate and battery powered like that.
ReplyDeleteI have a set of these here - they were intended for educational use, to teach kids (and students of all ages) about basic subtractive synthesis using cheap, portable modules with the essential audio and CV ins & outs.
ReplyDeleteThe filter is not potted or otherwise obscured, and I would like very much to build a clone of it. I don't suppose anyone has schematics? I'd hate to have to reverse-engineer the sucker. It does use some hand-matched transistors which are bonded to each other with thermal compound and wrapped in foil tape, so I can't tell what the parts are without kind of compromising its integrity.

ReplyDeleteYO MOMMAS GOT SOME CRAP NEGATIVE FEEDBACK! AND YO DADDA GAVE IT TO HER!!!!
Did that help? :)
