"This is an actual Front Panel Express Panel being fit with the parts to complete my layout of the Music From Outer Space Sequencer by Ray Wilson. I wanted to go for the rotary look in the MOTM-Basic format. Of course, you can see the knobs are no where near MOTM spacing, nor are the switches. But, they are switchcraft jacks and flatted bat switches. I am short a few knobs and control switches, but you get the idea of what I am going for. The sequencer features:
* 16 Step Operation With LED Indicator Per Step
* Gate Switches per Step
* Coarse and Fine CV Adjustment
* Built In Oscillator for Sequence Rate with LED Indicator
* Forward and Backward 1-Step Switches
* Reverse Mode
* Random 16-Step Mode
* Play Till End of Sequence Mode (Triggered by Gate or Start Button)
* Gate/Trigger Out Per Step
* Glide
* External Start"
Holy Buchla 250e, Batman!
ReplyDeletelooks inspiring
ReplyDeletebravo for the grid violation ... 20 points easy.
ReplyDeleteno one will ever wonder what that module is when they glance at your cabinet.
I like it!
ReplyDeleteif your gonna steal don buchlas ideas , at least give him credit.....
ReplyDeleteif you read the entry on his page, he clearly states Buchla as an influence. Settle down people.
ReplyDeleteThat's looks sweet! I love it.
ReplyDeleteWhy are Mr. Buchla's sycophants so touchy & humorless? I mean, the man Himself used to have a connection to the Merry Pranksters.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliments. As for the Buchla-Hoopla, this idea was originally inspired by a MOTM panel mock-up I saw prior to the 200e being made available. Of course, the simple design was just 16 knobs in a circle without gate switches but it always seemed so cool. The 250e is amazing for sure, but also about $1400 more expensive and not in my preferred format. That type of cash can be used for say... the new Prophet'08 that I am excited about. Thanks for checking out the images! - Thomas
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteMr. Buchla's idea... puhleeezzz. It's a fuckin' CIRCLE!!
Um...dont you know Buchla invented the circle? Before him we were stuck with only octagons...it was a scary time
ReplyDeleteOf course its Buchlas idea, because we all know that Buchla invented the circle right? Pfft, come on, get real anon, you loser.
ReplyDeleteGood work, this module looks very nice!
Buchla invented mathematics AND geometry!! A true renaissance man! It seems that the government is trying to cover up this fact though, this is one of the true American conspiracies!!!
ReplyDeleteEnough with the hyperbole, folks. The true facts are that DB invented _circular_instruments_. For example, the banjo...
ReplyDeleteHey nice!,wel designed layout

ReplyDeleteBWHAHAHAHA! I love this post
Oh, for shame. Raymond Scott invented the circular sequencer, and you all should know that.
ReplyDeleteDrop and give me 50, maggots!

listen douchebags. yall are arguing over who did what first, but did anyone ever realize that tweaking a sequencer like that while its running might make you dizzy? looks great, but i prefer a line of LEDs, not a circle. much easier to use.
ReplyDeleteit's beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou know... for kids.
