Fyi - for those thinkng of getting this - the Micron does not have the standard Steiner filter - it has a vactrol-based filter that sounds really interesting, but it's different than the one that's gained him fame over the last few years.
ReplyDeleteOK cool Peter.
ReplyDeleteI did compare it to my Livewire one.
And i already found it sound different.
But now it's all clear!
First off, this guy has 8 of them?????
ReplyDeleteI have a Microcon, A Synthacon and the Livewire Filter. This seems to stand on it's own, unlike any of them. This is pretty cool, a synth in a box and a mean one at that. The single osc has a beat function that makes PWM out of the saw or square for a massive sound. The drawback, the resonance is on or off, no variation. This makes it squak a bit. I use it as a modular osc, bypassing the filter. A bit expensive at $737.00 ($600 should be top). Synthacons are hard enough to find. This screams vintage!
I think the price in euro is fair.
ReplyDeleteThe dollar is pretty weak right now ofcourse. damn it aren't 8. that should have been one for sale. thanks for letting me know.
