Alesis Ion easy synth-ing 4: drive section overview
YouTube via se7ense7
"I upped this video for people wondering how the drive section of the Alesis Ion looks/sounds like.
I took a one-osc saw, made it 4 voice unison with 5 cents detuning and ran it through every drive effect of the Ion.
At the end I do a quick runover of the FX and then I add a low pass filter.
I'm wanting to use more video-angles, but it's hard to get those in time using the linear editing of movie maker. I'm looking for better software, as to make the video's a lil' more interesting...
However, this one is all about the sound.
Enjoy,
Alien Robot Dance.

Note: what he's done is pass 4 different oscillators through 4 different overdrive units - the Ion's drive parameter is part of the voice structure, and therefore polyphonic. Like hexafuzz, as opposed to a distortion stomp box.
