man, talk about an identity crisis
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Synth tattoos are taking an already nerdy obsession to whole new levels of nerdiness.
ReplyDeleteThe tattoo might as well say "Never been laid"
?WTF, people get all sorts of things tatooed like their favourite car/team/bike/etc so why not synths too? Identity crisis? Its not like the guy has chinese writing FFS.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with synth tattoos. What says "Never been laid" louder... a synth tattoo, or dissing synth tattoos on a forum?
ReplyDeleteIkutaro Kakehashi would be choked! Unlike the majority of awful clone tribal tattoo patterns and kanji characters, at least the bearer knows the true reference! Original and Sweet! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wiener.
ReplyDeleteNow there's an nice tattoo with original concept!
ReplyDeleteHow common and boring is an eagle or a snake or a scorpion? I have an Dragon and a Phoenix, not very original either.
I want to see someone get an modular synth on their back. One could expand it module by module :D
Maybe the patching could be done with piercings? :D :D

should have gotten the Reso knob with a permanent rope burn around it
ReplyDeleteYeah, I would say the insulting comments are from those with the identity crisis. People that are confident with themselves usually don't need to insult others. Insults usually come from those with a limited outlook - they can't see beyond what they need to see in order to justify their sense of being - hence the identity crisis and hence trash talking others to justify themselves.
ReplyDeleteAnd... That is one sharp tattoo. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteyeah... do what ya want, but visually it's just really ugly and stupid looking--looks unfinished, as is just a part of a complete design. Doesn't stand on it's own-doesn't compliment the body. Get rid of it.

ReplyDeletethe dragon is a symbol of power and the pheonix is a symbol for longevity. they are comonly used together to signify power everlasting. often used at japanese weddings probably referring more to the joining of two families.
if you look into most asian symbols they are all scaled and preportioned for accuracy. i see no shame in getting a japanese tattoo from flash. they all come out different when shaded and colored anyway.
i have a big ass koi fish that means nothing hahaha looks cool though.
I think it's a pretty original idea. Tattoos have gotten so commonplace now, that your average 'tribal' design or super-artsy whatever usually don't even garner a second glance.
ReplyDeleteThis actually means something, and it still takes some nerdy-inside knowledge to decipher. He could've just been cliche and done a picture of the whole 303, but this is much more clever, IMHO.
Kudos.
i cannot understand why something that is so clearly subjective provokes such a unsolicited negative response. i think the tb-303 and acid music are kind of cheesy; that being said i don't post in messages about the tb-303 because there are people who like that instrument plenty and want to talk about it.
ReplyDeletei will say this, if you get a circuit diagram on your body, you should be able to explain the theory it works on.
