transposition

transposition from Amanda Ghassaei on Vimeo.

"light sensitive device responding to ambient infrared light from the sun. At sunset and sunrise the intensity of light causes the array of 64 infrared photosensors to randomly trigger for about five minutes (before this time they are over-saturated and cannot reset to an "off" state, and after this time there is not enough light to produce an "on" message). This stream of random data was sent to a patch in Max/MSP which moves the arpeggiated three note chord around a two dimensional layout of notes.

original patch '"arpeggiator" for monome, download it here: docs.monome.org/doku.php?id=app:arpeggiator
filmed at sunset in my backyard in seattle, sorry it's a little dark"
