"Yesterday I was at Sinner's Day (http://www.sinnersday.com). A festival that takes please each year in my home town. This year Front 242 were celebrating their 30 years of existence.
To my suprise I saw a beaten up EII at their merchandise boot. I asked the guy standing behind the boot about it. Seems he was Patrick Codenys' brother and he told me that they were selling the EII.

It's the one and only EII that Front used for their their albums and concerts in the 80s and early 90s. Unfortunately it didn't work anymore.
However some guy from the UK already bought it for 1500 euro. A bit too pricey for me considering it's broken but it does have a historic value.

Don't worry, it has gone to a good home :-)
ReplyDeleteIt does actually work, it is just missing the top C key and the '3' button on the numeric key pad.
Patrick Codenys tested it out before delivery. He said he loaded up NoShuffle and all the sounds were on the keys. He also included ALL his disks for my personal enjoyment (not for distribution).
I'm a very lucky bastard, especially as a French guy offered 3000€ soon after I snapped it up! :-P
