Published on Jul 19, 2018 The Daydream Sound

"In this video we’ll use Ableton Live Camera and the Akai S-950 sampler to create some interesting sounds. Vintage samplers can definitely be used regardless of your age or experience. Merging new and old technology is an ideal creative tool for your music.

Ableton Live is a fast, fluid and flexible software for music creation and performance. It comes with effects, instruments, sounds and all kinds of creative features.

Max For Live puts the vast creative potential of the Max development environment directly inside of Live. It powers a range of instruments and devices in Live Suite. And for those who want to go further, it lets you customize devices, create your own from scratch, and explore another world of devices produced by the Max For Live community.

The Akai S950 soon followed the S900 and offered increased memory and sampling rates. The sample rate was now variable from 7.5 to 48kHz and it could hold up to 99 samples in memory. Memory could be expanded from 750KB to 2.25MB.
