(Matrixbrute): Matrix Arpeggiator + Lead Line

Published on Mar 9, 2019 Kris Lennox

"Matrixbrute as both accomp and lead on the same patch. VCO 3 is assigned to the arpeggiation sequence, which I wrote in 13/16 time. VCO's 1&2 are assigned to the upper (i.e lead) voice. Pitch wheel is set to an octave; you'll notice it only alters the lead part.

This improv is intentionally a small nod to Vai/Zappa - hence the odd use of the pitch wheel i.e as of how Vai commonly uses the whammy bar/whammy pedal on the guitar.

FX added = TC 2290 rack for delay, and PCM 96 rack for reverb. The distant sound/effect at the end is the fading in of the MxB's onboard reverb (to full wet).

All best
Kris"
