Vector Synth gets an update.
Even those super early birds who trusted us with making it all work can enjoy the latest DSP magic.
And so another season brings another firmware update: the focus of v2.7.x is implementing several most requested features, as well as improvements to the Orbiter engine and a new filter.
The two of the three we are most proud of are the new Orbiter shapes: N-Gon and Pulse [pictured in order]. Already existing lissajous-based formulas provide smooth timbre changes, while the new shapes are designed for sharp and intricate thumping rhythms, almost to the point of timbre sequencing.
Another is the introduction of a new Formant filter [bottom pic], which brings us up to 5 filter types, up to 4 filters per voice, in a max concurrent total of 64!
Two brand new Orbiter shapes: N-gon and Pulse
New filter: Formant
Increased available Orbiter speeds
Adjustable knob speed
Adjustable pitch bend range
Added an option to set the default preset and BPM
Better MIDI Bank Select to load patches support
Damper and Sostenuto CC support
MIDI Through support
MIDI Continue support
"Dot" Delay Time added
Double-tap on a preset to load
Added an option to hide incoming MIDI CC popups
Screen brightness adjustment
Various fixes and small improvements"
And an update on production & shipping:
"As we’re going forward with our 6th batch to date, we continue to improve the process, the newest nerdy addition being scannable barcodes assigned to each Vector’s serial number sticker. We’re still in awe how much fun it is to scan a barcode during the QA procedure rather than type serial numbers by hand :)
Over the past half year we also managed to do some small upgrades to the lab, built tool organizers and revamped the place in general. Even though the component situation is still challenging, all required components for the whole batch are stockpiled and ready to be assembled into fresh Vectors."
