Several world famous tracks were recorded with this 303, either directly or with samples from this machine.
It has also been used on many concert stages, from Germany to Japan to Australia, and you can see that visually.
That's why I had it completely serviced by the renowned Muting The Noise service technician Philsynth from Berlin, so that it is in a clean and technically first-class condition.
I will now sell it in this condition. The lucky next owner will not only acquire a first-class sounding 303 Devilfish, but also a piece of electronic music history.
The Devilfish mod was one of the first with an additional memory bank (16 x pattern memory of the original 303) and perhaps the first with a red punch button (left) to organically switch between X and Y pattern variation.
The Devilfish modification does not provide the original 303 with additional oscillators or filters, but intervenes in the existing architecture and expands the very reduced sound control by decisive parameters that make exciting sound variations possible, especially in interaction with the sequencer.
For example, the decay of accentuated and non-accentuated notes can be changed independently, which means that a programmed sequence can be rhythmised in a completely different way. This goes from super-short percussive zaps to long decaying notes.
A beefed-up resonance circuit allows for even more succinct acid "whoops", and overdrive, muffler and filter FM can be used to change the sound dramatically.
The many new control inputs for CV/Gate, Slide, Accent and Filter Frequency as well as the audio inputs for filter and frequency modulation are also part of the Devilfish modification.
Finally, there are lots of new switches. The big red push button on the right triggers momentary accents, even where none is programmed.
The left red pushbutton switches back and forth between the two x/y variations of a 303 pattern in the middle of the running sequence. Just like the x/y switch above it, only more organic.
The Devilfish mod battery is in good condition. It will be shipped double boxed with no other batteries inserted. Four new batteries are included."
