A matrix of resonant delay bodies and mutations. Serratus weaves nine comb algorithms against nine distortion, saturation, and mutation processes, with each intersection morphable in real time. Chaos and generative modulation treat the whole system as a living organism, while independent routing places filter, distortion, and reverb before, inside, or after the feedback loop, sculpting everything from string plucks and resonant percussion to frozen spectral drones and chaotic self-generating textures.

Controls

PITCH - Comb pitch (delay time), 10 octaves, 1 V/oct. Endless knob. When SW is set to Clock, it selects a clock ratio instead.

FEED - Feedback, bipolar. Noon is off, left is inverted (negative) feedback, right is positive. Near 3 o'clock the loop self-oscillates.

ORBIT - Orbital feedback. Endless knob, neutral at noon; sets a stereo crossfeed and phaser character inside the loop.

MATTER - Material damping of the feedback tail, bipolar: Rubber (dark) to the left, Neutral at center, Crystal (bright) to the right.

EBB - What the comb rings with.

FLOW - How it rings.

REND - Mutation intensity.

BIND - Mutation character. (There is no separate drive knob; Rend and Bind carry it.)

ETCH - Filter, bipolar. A DJ filter or a 16-band filterbank, chosen by a switch.

Q - Etch resonance, or band Q in the filterbank.

MELT - Reverb, bipolar. Ore (dark) to the left, Aer (bright shimmer) to the right, off at noon.

SEEP - Reverb decay and size.

LEECH - Modulation engine, bipolar. Left is chaotic (sharp, stochastic motion), right is organismic (slow, reactive drift), center disables it.

IN LVL - Input gain.

MIX - Dry to wet.

ROUTING - Mutation, reverb, and Etch each have their own switch to sit pre, mid (inside the feedback loop), or post the comb.

PITCH MODE SWITCH - V/Oct or Clock mode for the PITCH jack.

FREEZE / LOCK / MOD, + two encoders - Freeze captures and loops the buffer; Mod runs the envelope follower and its mod bus; the encoders step or morph through the comb and mutation banks.

Buffer freeze with live scrub, detune, drift, and sustain.

Three independent insert points (pre / mid / post) for the mutation, reverb, and filter.

True V/Oct tracking across the full 10-octave range.

RGB LED ring displays pitch and octave; the comb and mutation rings show algorithm selection.

Bipolar ±5 V CV input for some parameters, and 0-5v CV inputs for others, a Freeze gate input, and an envelope-follower CV output (0–5 V).
