Who is 'Inspector Norse'? (Circuit Tracks Remake)

video upload by Guinan

"I love the classic 70’s electronic disco/hi-energy vibes to this 2012 track from Norwegian DJ and producer Todd Terje. I thought it could sound great on the Tracks. I think it turned out well but let me know if you think it could be improved. I’ll put a link in the comments below to download the pack, so show me your remixes….

I’ve read that ‘king of Norwegian disco’ Terje Olsen (and it’s pronounced TAR-YEH i think*) produced this just using an ARP-2600 for all the sounds. I thought I’d set myself the challenge to only use the Tracks for this one so everything, including the drums and sound effects, had to be produced by the Tracks and playable on just this box.

Why? I like a challenge!

Everything you hear therefore was programmed, sampled and ported back to the tracks and then sequenced to be played live and recorded direct.

If you are wondering who Inspector Norse is, watch till the end of the video, (obviously partly a pun on UK TV detective 'Inspector Morse') but this excellent video might give you some further clues as to his identity..."

"WINNER OF SPECIAL JURY AWARD AT AFI FEST 2012

WHATEVEREST is a documentary about the unlikely inspiration behind a dance tune produced by Todd Terje called "Inspector Norse". "Inspector Norse" is the internet alias of Marius Solem Johansen, a failed musician living in a small town, producing dance videos and drug recipes for YouTube.
