EMW’s Multi Wave Digital Oscillator is a powerful oscillator under MIDI control. The module’s primary oscillator boasts a total of 40 waveforms, while it’s sub-oscillator section features eight. There’s also CV over the most crucial parameters. In addition to wavetable modulation, users can scan through the waves to achieve various results like FM, formant shifting, wave distortion, windowed sync, and much more.

This is the BLACK version of the Multi Wave.

the multiwave digital oscillator from emw has 40 main oscillator waveforms and 8 sub-oscillator waveforms. it uses a multi-algorithm structure to produce dynamic waveforms (as seen via the oscilloscope). synthesis methods available are: wavetable modulation, fm, wave distortion, formant shifting, timbre stretching and windowed sync. the sound palette on tap is staggering.

EMW Alias DVCO Demo

"Started out as a 'demo' and then went overboard with it. I tried to get every EMW module I own into the shuffle, but I missed the Multiwave Digital Oscillator. :-(

The lead sound that starts at the beginning is the DVCO in action being sent through a Boozy VCF. I tried to keep the composition sparse so that all the little changes done to that chain are always audible.

So how's the module? You know how sometimes you miss the sound of those crappy early digital synths like the Novation X-Station or the Red Sound Dark Star? Oh, that's just a few of us weirdos? Dang it. Well my favorite part of the X-Station when I had one was playing parts at the very upper range of its playability where the aliasing started coming through. I always thought those little digital artifacts were musical. The DVCO nails it, I think. So much so, that I'm really having to stop myself from buying a second one right now. Sent through the filter section of the Bitrazer, it just screams early 90's VA synths. And it's only $109!"

"This module is an absolute godsend for anyone looking for MIDI-controlled digital oscillation and in my opinion, it doesn't get enough love. This is just a quick run-through of the waveforms, some variations introduced via the wavefolder control, and then some of the suboscillator waves. I can't recommend this module enough."
