"similar pattern to the mfb 522 demo(hence no live programming here)! please check both out, simply for the sound"

  2. The Miami's functionality seems so faithful to the 808 it doesn't look to have midi or playable triggers. The MFB has both midi and front triggers. If it's like the 503, it'll all be midi cc controllable. Also seems to have 1 more parameter for sound shaping on the instrument sounds. Clear winner for me.

  3. Play both of these vids together and it's nice.

  4. Is there a price or availability for Miami yet? Is it a kit or a finished product or both?

  6. The miami has midi in and sync in/ out, so its possible to sync a "sync only" device behind it. It can be used as a midi expander as well.
the sound is 99% like the 808 (I made some close a/b test - check sequencer.de).
The price right now is 800 Euro but likely to rise since there is basically no profit at this point with 20 units built and sold (it is not a kit). It can only be ordered by contacting acidlab.de

The MFB box is a new development based of the 502 with better sound. It has only MIDI in and obviously no MIDI CC control (its completly analog). Its a good machine in its own right but not very close to the 808 I think. I will buy it anyway cause its cute ;-)

  7. 800 euro..us yanks are better off buying a real 808. Maybe not though as these are in better shape and sure to get longer life. Plus you'll be sure to get some boutique analog taliban cred. Can all knob functions on the Miami be controlled via CC?

The real question with this thread is how did those demoes sound SOOOO similar..spooky coincidence..or did both companies steal the same midi file from somewhere and load it as a preset..things that make ya go hmmm....

  8. The video sound similar because I reprogrammed the MFB pattern on the miami. Its really not difficult!
