Isao Tomita Synth Shots
Title link takes you to a funny thread debating who's in the shot below. Isao Tomita or Riyuici Sakamoto. Why did I post this? : ) More synth shots well worth seeing after the hop of course.

I'm not sure that this is Tomita, but I am sure that it is NOT Ryuichi Sakamoto.

It's Tomita circa 1975.
ReplyDeleteSakamoto and Tomita have a mutual long time friend and early collaborator Hideki (Logic System) Matsutake.
Not to belittle his music talents but Sakamoto tends to be very cutting edge fashion conscious. So you'll more likely to see him looking suave wearing Armani for Barney's New York than showing off his synths.
It is NOT Isao Tomita
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought for a minute it was Matsutake but he wouldn't pose in front of Tomita's Moog, he has his own different Moog. It is Tomita, he didn't wear his trademark glasses until the glare of "Firebird". Some copies of "Pictures at an exhibition" have a similar shot with all the same equipment though he's without the jacket.
