Roland Jupiter 8 sold on the *bay for $203.49

First the $150 Roland TB-303. Now this.

  1. This is much different than the other auction. The seller ended it early. He probably arranged something with someone for more but just ended it at current price so he wouldn't have to pay a higher fee. I've done that in the past. Maybe he found a local buyer and wouldn't need to ship...

  2. Yep, that's what I was thinking. My guess is the winning bidder just called them up and said forget the auction, I'll give you x for it. Question is if this is actually against Ebay policy as you say, they are cut out of the picture. I thought the correct method was to pull the item out of auction alltogether and then deal with it offline. The message states that it was sold for the high bid. Regardless, it's fun to think about it.

  3. Ending the auction early is, in fact, against eBay policy, but I don't think anyone gets in trouble for it. It's hard to prove it happened, after all.

    Oh, and please stop posting these. They make me cry. 8)
