"Say! That's me! I've never been blogged before. Thanks!

http://www.livejournal.com/users/sarendipatree/119571" Hmm... Currently getting a 404 for this. Oh well...
I almost didn't post this shot as there just wasn't enough "synth skin" in the pic, but I decided what the heck. The human side of what a synth and music brings to the table is worth posting. There is just something really nice about this shot. She's smiling, they look comfy, and he's playing away on that Yamaha QY and DSI Evolver. Cool headboard and wallpaper as well. : )

Hah! Now that's a loaded question. I "make music" in bed alllll the time. ; ) A side note: One of my favorite things to do when going on vacation was hit up any local pawn shops. Every now and then I'd get a killer deal, bring the synth back to the hotel and... play with it on the bed. I'd usually go through a ritual of cleaning it up first - like detailing the thing before I actually started playing. Haven't done that in a while. Fun times...
ReplyDeleteHoly crap!
ReplyDeleteI know those two!!! Well, I know the guy and the fact that the woman next to him is his wife.
That's awesome.
(PS: My best Evolver patches have come from when I've been twiddling with it in bed.)
Oh yeah. I'm a synth nerd alright. It's a ritual thing. Wet paper towels rolled to a point to get those nooks and crannies. Or socks. Socks always worked well. : ) Since I probably won't be doing it anytime soon, I'll give my favorite spot away. In Vancouver BC there is a street called Granville and at the time a place called the Hotel Dakota that sat on top of some Martini and Cigar night club. Well the street there is filled with $1.25 pizza shops, night clubs, adult shops and... pawn shops. We'd check in walk down one side of the street and hit all the pawn shops then hit the liquor store at the end of the street and walk back the other side hitting all the pawn shops on the way back. Now and then I'd get lucky and find something. I got a JD800 for I think $650 Canadian. We'd take up to the room and I'd have a few drinks while cleaning it. Then play and eventually go out to dinner (some tapas place) followed by the Martini bar for more drinks and of course a cuban. We'd get back and usually watch the nightlife go by on the street all the while thinking, I just got me a new synth. : )
