New Emu Bits

Update: Here's the full press release: http://www.productionforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=5414

Comments via James of Retro Thing via this post:
"The new Emulator X2 software will include the Transform Multiply functionality that was included in several classic E-mu samplers (The Emax and Emax II for sure). It's a DSP convolution tool that is well known for the bizarre textures it creates. They're also automating multisampling of your fave synth patches with a tool called SynthSwipe."

You can now use it without an audio card. The USB midi adaptor will function as a dongle. $300.

  3. I'm a bit frustrated about the midi adapter dongle. Currently, I can't run Emulator X on my secondary slave machine because it checks for E-mu hardware (which is in my primary computer). This new solution seems as bad because if I upgrade, I'll still need an audio card or MIDI adapter (which only comes with the full-price package) to run on my slave machine.

  4. Interesting. The same goes with the XBoard and Proteus X LE. You can't play the software unless you use the controller, even on the same computer. It's lame when you want to user another controller or take your laptop to another studio. And then you have Clavia giving you a G2 mono modular for free. Makes you wonder...
