Yeees. Hardcore Beatbox action with
ReplyDeletethe 2 leaders of the Roland pack that helped building the fundament of Techno, House and other styles styles of electronic music. Never hurts to have them both ;-) i guess.
Highly recommended for Sound and user interface. Programming them in realtime is just a breeze.
The Tr 808 is one of the most beautiful drumboxes ever crafted imo and it's "fine tempo" adjust knob makes it a great partner for live sessions and Dj sets too. You just can't beat the Kick of the 808. The only bummer is the annoying 808 cowbell sound (unless you are in a whitney houston cover band) and i never understood why roland wasted a circuit on that(it can't even be tuned! or changed in any) while the Maracas and Clap sounds are shared and can't be used at the same time.
808 has no midi but you can easily
sync it to your Midi setup with doepfer's MSY1 box (Din-sync to Midi converter)
Never liked the looks of the 909 . In fact i think it's pretty ugly (colour scheme only)- but the sounds and its groove are awesome.
