Don't know much about this unit other than I believe it is analog. It came up on Ah, with someone asking for more info. If you know more please post in the comments and I'll update this post.
Update via Ross, the person who sent this to the AH list and the owner of one:
"It sounds analog and not quite like anything else analog that I've
heard. Better than a cheesy drum machine but not pristine analog like
a Tr-808. It sounds sort of like very early Kraftwerk type drums
(autobahn or earlier); noisy and minimal."

I have owned a Drumfire 500 and a Techstar 202. The Drumfire does sound like a lot of other cheapo drum modules. Sod oes the Techstar. I also have now or have had at some time a Pearl DRX-1, MPC DSM 1, MPC Music Percussion Computer, TR-606, TR-808, Machinedrum,a couple Concussor modules, an Impakt drum unit, Simmons SDS 8, a Yamaha MR-10, Mattell synsonics, and am probably forgetting some. This Fightman sounds like none of those. I'm not saying it's better, just unique. Its also unique because it's an analog module with cymbal sounds. I don't know of another module that has cymbal sounds. All the drum machines do, but not the modules.
ReplyDeleteHi there,i also own a fightman fm8. but it is brocken. i only get hum out of it and also the three modules for the cymbals are missing. so it is more a fm5 than a fm8. Anybody has some techinfo. what is the internal currency the instrument needs, anybody got some schematics or manuals...thank you. my mail is::::: sonogames@yahoo.de
