The Source - New Flickr Shot

flickr by pinkbelt.

Interesting. I never realised it was "The" Source. Thought it was just the Moog Source. Ok, moving forward, it's the Moog The Source. And of course, don't forget it's Moog pronounced like Vogue, not like poo.

  1. Yeah, that, in fact, is John Vanderslice's keyboard player Ian's Source. It replaced JV's Source, which they toured with last year and which finally died.

When I saw them in Cambridge MA, they were having a few problems with it, due to a dead internal battery. They had it mostly sorted out by the show two days later in Northampton, but it went into patch-randomizing mode a couple of times...

How sad is it that I recognized it by what it's sitting on (a Wurlitzer electric piano-- that's a whole other maintenance story, too), and by the little blue triangle of tape there?

Thank you for my Sunday morning laugh. You must have stirred some deeply hidden part of my psyche that finds synth poo jokes especially funny.

And I, too, didn't realize it was The Source.

  3. You're welcome James. I'm still flattered that the author of Retro Thing actually reads my blog! : ) I remember reading Retro Thing before I started this blog.
