  3. You're right, it's the VCS3 or Putney. I have a tendancy of calling them all Synthis as electronically they are the same. The Synthi is a VCS3 in a briefcase as you probably know. I updated the post to spread the word that this model was indeed called The Putney. Thanks.

  4. well, most (not all) of the EMS line was built around the VCS3 architecture.. but this was one of the original units, and therefore more properly just referred to by its original name (or the putney nick)

    BTW, this model is what was used to do much of the synth sounds on "Dark Side of the Moon"

  5. I believe it was actually the Synthi AKS with the built in sequencer on Dark Side of the Moon. That's what David Gilmor shows in the DVD. He reproduces the sequence and talks about how they set up the sequence for the track. Fantastic DVD btw, with some great Synthi content.

    i want one of those things really badly too - got ready to shell out 3k$ for one once, then the auction went up to 4500... i was like "DAMN!!"
