"this is from the analogue heaven video from martin newcombe.. maybe he is not really amused, same with the moog one, it's from the same video..
matthias is a writer of the german keyboards magazine, he wrote the synthesizer von gestern books and series - (vintage synthesizers or exact words are: yesterdays synthesizers)
it is more a live-video and obviously he really tried to find out where the modulation comes from (turned down all OSCs etc. checked the matrix..) well.. the matrix is cool but even on the VCS3 it takes some time to find the mod-pins on the right place ;)"

That matrix just looks too massive to deal with. Maybe a more modern version could have butons on the edges and LEDs that light up next to the pin hole.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the guy pretty much knew what he was doing, but was nervous during the interview. It looked hot under those lights too. (well, the synth was hot, but I ment the temperature)
Perhaps if he was high, it would take the edge off.

ReplyDeleteI think with a patching matrix that big, he may have had a problem seeing where each pin was going, especially in that lighting. I think I changed my mind about wanting a Synthi 100.
After listening to the entire demo, I think this was possibly the lamest demo ever. 1 oscillator, 1 filter and one envelope. One a synth with how much more??? Can someone who really knows how to use a Synthi 100 post some samples?
