What is this?

Ross sent me the following:

"I recorded these 2 tracks off the radio in the mid 80s, and have no idea who it is...can you pass on this web address to see if anyone can help me solve the 25 year puzzle?"

After listening to them I'm actually curious myself. If you know please post in the comments.

  1. Oh man, did you record that off a college radio station, 20 years ago? Sounds like it could be any number of failed noise acts. College radio stations still get flooded with music just like that to this day.

  3. Hmm, given that it was an Australian broadcast I wonder if the first one could be some very early Severed Heads track. The second one is pretty obviously composed of stuff recorded off shortwave, and I'm not sure how much real work was done on it.

  5. I think it be from a record by this guy named Carlos Peron- he was one of the original members of the group 'Yello' and his role in the group was to create noise- his only solo Lp was called 'Impersonator'- but this is only a wild guess based on not having heard it in 20 + years.
