You can just tell that guy really lusts after a model 101. He's doing special all those special effects to his 102 sort of imagining if he had the rest of a system 100.
ReplyDeleteActually Roland is pulling a bit of a tease. Say you buy a 102 because you don't need a keyboard. There are just enough other features on the 101 that you feel lacking. And then say you buy the sequencer because, hey sequencers are fun. Then you just have to get the speakers and mixer. Not that you need them or that they are all that good. You just feel something is missing.... well there are always mirrors and special effects ;-)

ReplyDeletei made the clip just as a sort of dedication to my machines..
think of it as a minimalistic approach in bringing the synths to life, as if they were speaking by themselves..
Not like making a video with composed/sequenced synth music and just some visual representation of knobs etc.
i used the mirror effect to emphasize on the architecture of the machines and to create a sort of surreal environment.
ps: i actually own a 101 model but the 102, for me, perfectly illustrated what i wanted in the video.. Keys don't neccesarily represent my perception towards a "synthesizing machine".
