Modular Noodle by JackAstro

Title link takes you to the thread on VSE. You'll find a 6.29M sample there. Backed up here for when the thread goes to limbo.

  1. I like the guitar pedal modular approach. How hard is it to manage noise with this kinda setup? Lots of separate power supplies worries me. Is there any problem with the pile-o-pedal approach?

  2. Noise isn't much of a problem except on the CZ-1 which has very quiet output. Guitar pedals are made to work at a lower voltage than line level, so line level signals don't introduce a lot of static.

You can run 5-8 pedals on one power supply. Though, you still have cables everywhere. I tried batteries and they are a little bit quieter.

The only downside I have found is the lack of space. If you put three or four boxes in your signal path, then it consumes a lot of space. The major advantage is having a knob for everything. Get some Danelectro pedals and try them with your modular. It doesn't cost much and it is a lot of fun.
