He's had the Crumar up for months. Pretty much the worst price ever for one of those.

Insane prices! But it only takes one guy to bite on those inflated Buy-It-Now auctions to turn those into the new standard prices.

And private auctions are especially good for jacking up prices cause you have no idea if the winning bid was legit or a shill to jack market value / result in a sale the next time it's listed.
Shill bidding isn't limited to private auctions, so if you're worried about that then you may as well not buy things via auction.

ReplyDeleteOf course it isn't, but when you can see who's bidding it's easier to spot a shill. I don't bid on private auctions cause I don't know of any good reason anyone would make their auctions private.
