I learned four things about the Fingerboard from this video that other videos haven't tought me yet:
ReplyDelete1) You canr eally see how spongy the surface is! Looks like you can push down a whole centimeter or so! I thought it'd just be a standard flat surface, like the Voyager's 2D ribbon (can't remember what its actual term is).
2) Didn't know black and white (OK, black and red?) keys were printed on it. Makes sense.
3) There's Z control... depending on how far up or down on the key you can apparently assign things like cutoff the way Jordan is doing towards the very end of the solo.
4) I want one terribly badly. I thought I only kida did, but now it's plain to me that the want is more of a serious nature.
Ya, it's pretty spongy. It's like neoprene (scuba material).
ReplyDeleteYou can get various options for keys drawn on it or not. I have never seen those dark options like in this video. Maybe that's a sharpie?
It is XYZ polyponic. I've got algorithms to do critical damping and track momentum of other parameters. It's neat.
Call Lippold up. He makes em! A 1/2 size one is more affordable.
A great guy!
people pay to watch that?
ReplyDeleteThat dude is a total wankster. I can play that on solo on a guitar pretty easy.
ReplyDeleteYou anonymous kids have never heard of DT, have you?
ReplyDelete- RZ4
if that's the gist of it, i don't want to hear any more dt.
ReplyDeleteI like that "if"... Being a DT and LTE fan for years, I can tell you one thing for sure: that's not the "gist" of it.
ReplyDeleteIf you've never heard 'em before, you're missing out on it!
I know that their stuff is too heavy to handle for some people but it seems like you're judging one of the greatest bands in the history by a stupid Continuum solo...
