"A group for those of us using Yamaha's line of wonderful Black Box Modules. We're talking TX802, TX81z, FB-01, PTX8, TX16w, TX(1d6)16 even the humble Tx7, Yamaha's time of majesty when everything came in a sturdy black box."
Title link takes you there. Ran into this site via Loscha the founder of the group.
cool, I have a TX 81z, it was my second synth after the RedSound DarkStar - I'm not using it much lately but I used to love to run it into an Alesis Bitrman or Frostwave Sonic Alienator, it breaks up the cheese real nice , sort of like grated parmesan...so now I have a place to go thanks
ReplyDeleteI still have two QX-5s which I use from time to time. The 384 ppq resolution made it easy for me to write fluid sounding stuff without having to quantize much aside from the drums and basslines.
ReplyDeleteIn a perfect world, the QX-5 would have been as hands-on as an Alesis MMT-8, or the MMT-8 would have been of the same build quality and resolution as the QX-5.
I also miss my TX-802, but the FS1-R mare than makes up for it...
