ReplyDeleteEasy, just make slight differences in the coefficients for filter are computed. Or how the ADSR (APDSR in this case) envelopes are scaled. All you have to do is write a mild randomization function for the lookup tables. Quite a clever idea, really.
Copying a cheap ensoniq is not clever. They're just out of new ideas.
