As a sequencer this gizmo is 'kind of' useful - as a synth however it is terrible. Listen to the sound clips - those are the only sounds you'll ever coax out of this box.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few of these on ebay the last 6 months. They seem to have a terrible time selling - usually no bids. I've heard other people also comment on the weak sound.
ReplyDeleteThe sounds are limited, sure, but they're not bad. And I've probably watched nearly ever Firstman auction the past couple of years, as sad as that might be, and only once do I recall the winner getting a relative bargain.

Seems like it's always the same firstman SQ-01 on ebay. I remember the mark on the front panel that you can clearly see on the pics.

ReplyDeleteif your looking for those big acid/basslines this is the beast for you ....dont agree with most of the people below ....if you can get this for under a grand which is cheap in comparison to the tb303 these days id pounce on that mutha~
