I hope someone writes an LP to Voyager patch converter.
ReplyDeleteWhat can the LP do that the Voyager can't?
Informative... the stage edition solves my problem with the tribute... having able to assign the knobs to do cutoff and resonance on other knobs so that I have control over both at the same time in real time...

ReplyDelete- LP can save you a few grand
I actually like the appearence af the stage edition better than the tribute..not that it matters, it's a awesome liitle synth!
ReplyDeleteGuys, pardon my lack of knowledge. If I intend to get the voyager... then would there being any point in getting the LP cept for the sake of having one which might become a classic? Thanks
ReplyDeleteWell, the accordion sounds of course. ; ) The biggest difference (for me) is the overdrive implementation on the Little Phatty. You can cover it to an extent with the Voyager audio input trick (feeding an audio out to the audio in), however it's a bit more temperamental with the Voyager. With the Little Phatty you can pretty much set it to any level and even crank it and it sounds good and stable. With the Voyager you can easily "tip it" if that makes sense. If it were a balloon holding water, you could easily and accidentally burst the balloon with the Voyager, but not the Little Phatty. That is the only option I wish the Voyager had so far, but I would want it in addition to the input trick. The Little Phatty has an audio in but only mono out, while the Voyager has "stereo out" for each filter, so the input trick is easier on the V.
ReplyDeleteThe older Voyagers also did not track CV Portamento to the filter. You can get an update to the Voyager for this and new Voyagers have the update by default.
I'm not sure if the new noise modulation on the Little Phatty is any different than the noise on the Voyager.
Hi Matrix I do understand what you are saying surprisingly. Thanks for the info, now I've got to save up for both... GAS
