  3. mine is amazing, ppl who can't afford them should go back to their cracked VSTs and stop whining. i'm sure they cost a huge amount to research/manufacture.

  4. It is a good oscillator, and worth about 150 less than Cynthia is charging. IMO

  5. I hope she releases a $800 envelope generator soon.....
....speaking of cracked....i better start selling some more crack to be able to afford the zeroscillator....

you can make sounds with it that are impossible with normal oscillators?

  7. Some oscillators can make sounds that are impossible with other oscillators.

    What's your point?

  8. i was asking if in your experience you have made sounds with it that are unique only to the zeroscillator

  9. I personally haven't as I don't own one, but from what I have read from others it is very unique. It's not a standard oscillator. Check out the Cyndustries site for more info.

  10. i have read it can do all these magical things but i still have not heard any. the owners of these oscillators always try and weasel their way out of answering.

  11. Yep, the "Buchla Effect." I'm not sure this will answer your questions but check out some of the mp3s on the Cyndustries list. You'll have to sign up, but just create a dummy account to check some of them out. They are under the files section.

As for price, everything comes down to supply and demand.

  12. dude, i have checked out the mp3s. im not concerned about price. i just want to hear whats so special about it. i have not heard anything special in audio rate fm examples posted to justify ownership. do i really have to travel a few thousand miles to analogue haven? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

  14. I think it comes down to how you get people to use your modules. If you tell them that it is made for FM and give them specific inputs, then they are much more likely to try out FM patches and explore that avenue. Most folks dont really experiment enough to get past the "it does this" stage of understanding these things. So making a product that is a "one trick pony" is probably the best business decision, because people rarely understand the wide variety of applications of any single module. I also havent heard anything from the ZO that couldnt be done with standard modules, but most people will because they dont fully realize the potential of the standard modules in the first place. This is largely because of the time investment necessary to really play the modular as an instrument. Think how long it takes to be a virtuoso at something like the violin, and thats with a codified instruction routine. I'm afraid that most folks dont have the ability to invest that much time, and its much easier to invest more money on a product that has pre-determined application, and tells you exactly how to use it. Its good business to cater to this type of person, because they are the vast majority.

  15. You can read about "thru-zero" in the synthesizers.com yahoo group, and read about how to do it with simple modules.

  16. Please, I howled with laughter at that ridicuous post about doing "thru-zero" on the synthesizers.com yahoo group, using only simple modules.
The Zeroscillator is a grand technical achievment, and has the 2007 Electronic Musician Editors Choice Award for (Hello?) Best Analog Synthesizer... to prove it.

    Thank You.
