"I'd like to add that DSI is a model of good customer service: they reply to emails promptly and thoroughly, are polite and do not assign blame, do their best to fix the problem without having to charge you, have extremely reasonable expired-warranty repair terms, and pay for shipping both ways (!). I definitely recommend them and want to buy more stuff from these guys."
I couldn't agree more.
its amazing how digital something so analog looks...
ReplyDeletediscrete component technology has really come along way since the late 1970s. If it looked like this back then we'd all have Prophet-20s and they wouldn't over heat. ;-) Its great to see DSI doing this stuff!
ReplyDeletei second the excellent customer service from dsi, the fast response and helpful nature combined with good care for their customers is something not found to often these days.

Its uses surface mount components.
My PEK has green PCBs.
ReplyDeleteAlso Dave Smith sent me a couple encoders so I could fix one without sending him the whole board or even just a PCB.
The PEK isn't exactly "so analog".
ReplyDeleteTwo of the three oscillators are analog ones, and the other is a wavetable one... AKAIK the PEK uses a CEM or SSM filter and an ASIC with the oscillators... LFO and ENV are digitally generated... but that won't impact so much on its analogueness... I think that the mix of analog and digital is a winner...
ReplyDelete4 OSCs. : ) Two are wavetable from the Prophet VS and two are analog.
