MATRIXSYNTH: Labels

Labels

I've added labels to all archived posts. You can see a list of labels to date on the bottom of the right of the site under the Blog Archives. If you click on one all posts with that term will come up. I currently have it ordered by frequency of occurrence. Kind of interesting to see what I have come across the most often since I started the blog in July of 2005. Note that I pretty much blog what comes to me either on the lists, people sending me things or other. It's not just me searching on MOOG. : )

Currently the labels are primarily manufacturers as that was obviously the first thing to come to mind. Note that I simply ran a search for the terms on the list and if a post came up, it received the label, so there will likely be a few that make you wonder why the particular label is there.

Also, I am open to suggestions on labels to add. I believe right now the functionality on Blogger is limited to one list, so I can't break out unique synths under each manufacturer (I need to clean some those I started up). If I add individual synths to the list you can imagine how long it will get, so for now my plan is to just put up manufacturers and obvious things that should be there. For example, I'll probably add MP3s, Video, and YouTube shortly. Update: I added MP3s and Video. I labeled all posts with YouTube with Video. And Video beat out MOOG.

If I missed anyone obvious, please comment. I was seeing double towards the end of this.

  3. I think it's important to try and have as many labels as possible.

In an ideal world, there should be more labels than words in the post.

For pictures, you should have labels like: pic:synthcat, pic:cats, etc...

And important things like keys:88 keys:76 would be good too.

Perhaps also think of adding: knobs:36 (i.e. the synth has 36 knobs), and buttons:22 (for number of buttons).

If the synth has wood panels: panels:wood, panels:metal, or we can build a hierarchal taxonomy: panels:wood.lignum_vitae

What other good labels should we have?

It could be the 'label:synth' project.

(I like calling them tags tho).

  4. Serge added, thanks. I'm thinking about alphabetical, but was curious to see it in order of number of posts. If anyone reading this has an opinion on how alphabetical vs. frequency of posts feel free to comment.

doktor, I could put up a label for synth.

To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.
