  1. $3500 more into this monstrosity and not one comment.
It must be lonely in the Paia Hall of Fame.

  2. So I think I now own about 1/2 of it.

The modular sounds very good, and quite 'Moog modular' like!

I do need to do some repairs, but the PCB's are dead simple, so that's fun.

It's making noise on radio modular right now. There is a touch of delay, but there you go. PAiA being insane:

    Cheers :)

  3. You think a PAIA sounds like a Moog modular? Maybe you also think a toy play organ sounds like a Hammond B3!

  4. As you know, a Moog modular can do more than a ladder filter! I've spent a lot of time on a Moog Modular 55 (about 3 years) and there's certainly some overlap here, if not for the 'sqelchy basses' and stuff.

Listen to the Plexus videos and tell me if that's not creamy warm and analog. Where the PAiA is weak, I'll supplement with other modules. I picked the PAiA for some polyphony experiments and to use it as a big modular drum kit, for which it's pretty good. (esp. when interfaced with some other weird gear).

I've got buckets of Modular, and the PAiA is nice for sure. A few of the Oscs I've tested so far actually track pretty well before tuning!

Oh, and surprisingly, I don't think a play organ sounds like a Hammond B3 :)

    I think only a B3 can sound like a B3. I've got a Hammond M3 (downstairs -- could never fit it upstairs), so it's a poor man's B3, but I love it.

I do think a Buchla sounds like a Banjo tho.
