  1. One big reason I think they went under is because how their web site looked, and the odd choice of clip-art graphics.

Like, why an olive? Why lime green and yellow as colors? That was hard on my brain.

Then, why did they get rid of sound samples on their site? Were they trying to go 'Buchla'?

Finally, look at the picture in this posting -- there's Cre@mware. Like, it's an AT sign. What are they saying, they're all 'internetted'?

It's all appears very amateur to me.

That being said, many of their GUI's look great to me. If their GUI team had designed their products, they may have gone out of business next year instead of this year.

  2. No, they went under because their support sucked, all their products were overpriced, they had poor marketing and poor r&d. They keep repackaging old stuff and mislead the public to think they are new products. Believe it or not the latest Scope drivers for PC are for Windows 2000 from 2001!!!!
And also they are trying to make yo update to Scope 4 ot 4.5 (PAID update) but since version 3 all of them are almost the SAME software with a different face. Just make file comparison between Scope 3 and 4.5, and you will see only a small subset of files changed.
Ridiculous! Actually, it surprised me that they lasted so long.

  3. UPDATE: Considering this new information from an anonymous tipper, it seems that in addition to their color scheme, support problems and stagnation also may have been contributing factors.
