EML 200

Title link takes you to shots pulled via this auction.

Details:
"A very old-school semi-modular synthesizer expander module designed as an expander to complement the EML 100 and EML 101. It's monophonic with dual oscillators for a fatter tone. Truly an old school instrument which is as old as 1969! It's not too pretty (they can be found in either blue or silver) but nicely designed and laid out. There are 31 knobs and over 60 patch points! With a little patching, even people new to analog synths will be able to start getting sounds out of the 200. Some additional features include two ring modulators and a spring reverb.

Note however that the EML 200 was designed as an Expander module to interface directly with other EML synthesizers. Today, you can use it with analog synths other than EML with the properly modified CV/Gate connections and converters (its oscillators are a non-standard 1.20v/oct)."

If that's the case then what other EML synthesizers are they talking about ;-)

True, they had their "Black Monster" something I might add that no one has yet to post a .jpg of.

The 100 may have came out as late as 1971.

Bringing up the 100 is also interesting in itself. Did it come out taking the MiniMoog into consideration as to it's configuration or did it predate it.

  2. Absurd starting price. Check out wavstudios' Expanded Nord Modular Rack auction. A starting bid of $1099. Yep.

  3. This starting price is far from absurd. Matrix, you need to ban anonymous comments.

  4. anon comments are fine.
ebay sellers with 15 negatives aren't.

    ReplyDelete
  5. But those 15 were largely in the past. Feel the Jesus in your heart man. Forgive!

    Testify!

    (waves hands about)

  6. "anon comments are fine.

Anyone who gives negatives gets negatives. With the huge number of positives this person has, it's clear that whoever made the comment above has little understanding of selling on Ebay.

  7. it's also clear that you're wavstudios and you're desperately trying to repair your rep. why don't you try changing your ebay ID, again? or did you do that one too many times?

  8. Wav, I left the 15 neg comment and I've been on ebay longer than you, have a higher score and no negs.
I've never had to change my screen name either.
You have been wavstudios, xixseven8, aficionadoalmusico, d-producer, e.sam.me and ponchinda.

What's clear is that you have little understanding of how to deal with people who buy on Ebay.

Wow, you're so smart. Gee, I wish I had youre brainz. I'm the one who made the comment that anyone who gives negatives gets negatives, cause that's what happens on Ebay. Most people retaliate, even when they're wrong. And I'm not wavstudios, genius/es.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Edwin, you likely DO wish you had my brains.

Fact is, the first feedback you ever gave was negative.
    So was your second feedback.

So were the 44 other negative feedbacks you've given.

So much for "give one, get one"
You've given over 3 times the negatives you've received.

    Wanker.

  11. Whatever. You guys think you know it all. I already said I'm not wavstudios, but you geniuses think you know better than me. It's funny.

That's what I love about the net. Lots of people who think they're brilliant feeling the need to show the world how smart they are by jumping to false conclusions. In the end, they're just showing the real smart ones how stupid they are.

But I'm not here to insult you. I just wish you guys would keep your speculation and slanderous comments to yourselves, or don't post it anonymously so when the "Genius of the Year" Award comes out, we can nominate you - that way maybe you'll get the recognition you truly deserve. ;)

  12. There is some real hypocrisy when an anon poster condemns anon posters.

But since YOU'RE not Edwin Alphonso Samayoa, you won't care if I call HIM a 34 year old lousy tennis playing landlord into antiques who can't make music. Right?

  13. "There is some real hypocrisy when an anon poster condemns anon posters."

Yes, it was meant to be that way. Matrix should do away with anon comments and ban people who make this an unfriendly community. You might argue that this means I should be banned, but I'm just sticking up for the guy, not because of any association, but because I can't stand seeing net slander.

"But since YOU'RE not Edwin Alphonso Samayoa, you won't care if I call HIM a 34 year old lousy tennis playing landlord into antiques who can't make music. Right?"

Call him what you want, as long as it's not slanderous. But when you think about it, why do any of these things factor into this discussion? So he plays tennis and is a landlord and can't - in your opinion - make music. Who the F cares? People just love to bitch and complain about it when someone else has more money or stuff than they do. If that's your case, go out and get a job so jealous people can complain about YOU being THEIR landlord. Don't go cursing the landlord cause you're too poor to buy your own place. That's not his fault. Nor is it his fault you're too poor to afford his synths. If you ask me, it's cause you're sitting here wasting your time trying to ruin someone else's reputation when in that same time you should be doing something to boost your own. Chatting here won't do that. Oh no, I just realized I'm late to collect the rent... HA!

I lucked into a 100 last weekend, and while it needs some serious work, I did get it to trigger.. (just not in anything resembling pitch)
According to legend, they only made 200 of the 100.. I opened this one up, and s/n 199 is etched into the panel. (although, it looks like someone did it with a knife)
The date on the circuit board (3) is 11-71

  15. Hi,
it' s Leo from Milano, Italy.

I'm the man who bought the eml 200 you' re talking about.
It' works perfectly, souns great and I' ve payed a honest price.

I don't ask it sounds like my EML Synthi, It would be a nonsense. I like it as it is, I mean ...you could find thousands of moog on the net (graat respect o.c) but not thousands of EML

    Best regards

    Leo
