are these things actually any good? seem a bit gimmicky to me....
ReplyDeletenothing sounds like it. I've got the software version and would be well chuffed with the "real" thing. $2000 is way overpriced for a battered one though.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know they're still available new in some stores for the same price or less.
It's a pc inside. Nothing special about it.
ReplyDeleteHe has in his possession a Neuron and is not able to confirm 100% that it works because he doesn't know what all the knobs do? Has he ever touched a synth before? Did he just find this thing laying against a wall in a thrift store? Good lord.
ReplyDeleteYes $2k is a bit much considering the key joysticks are broken and yes, you can still find these things new. Good luck finding joystick replacements.
Where can you find a new one? i couldnt find one
ReplyDeleteI need this about as much as I need 'Windows Vista'.
ReplyDeleteCan't find the cheaper version anymore. (stumbled upon it a couple of weeks ago)
ReplyDeleteSteeper priced still available at www.touched-by-sound.com though.
btw, next to the EmulatorX sampler, this is the only VST allowed in my studio. Best synth for freaky soundscapes IMO. And does fit right in with my quirky old analogs. sometimes they sound good, sometimes they break down. It just feels right! :D
This is the synth that General Motors would make if they made synths.
ReplyDeleteUgly, repackaged garbage at a high price.
It might be not to your taste but it sure is different from the mainstream. comparison with GM is just bullshit.
