New Soft Synths from Roland?
Saw this one on sequencer.de. Go here and click on each category. Note the Soft Synts category is currently empty. Anyone know if this is new or old?

yep
ReplyDeletedon' t you remember the VarisOs ?
check google, you' ll discover Roland Soft Synth :)
Yep, but the VariOS isn't listed on that page. I'm curious if this is in reference to a VSTi coming like Korg did with the Legacy Edition. Roland had the d16 Group change thier UIs from the 909 and 808 [link] only recently. Of course the timing could be coincidence, but who knows... : )
ReplyDeleteThis was discussed on KSS. There used to be software for SoundCanvas's there.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you realise it or not but the VariOS is NOT a soft synth. It requires that a 1u Rack. As a matter of fact, I use my VariOS about 90% of the time, NOT plugged into the computer. Try that with a soft synth.
ReplyDeleteGO grab your Korg MS-20v, turn OFF your computer and then start patching away, and you'll notice, that it will only play 3min and 33 seconds of silence ;)
YOu'll see what I mean... You might want to call it a hardsoft synth, but it's definitely NOT a soft synth..
Cheers
