* Amazing simulation of the famous Roland RE-201, with the spacious, analogue tone of the original Space Echo
* Faithful modelling of the RE-201’s tape flutter and magnetic head sound saturation
* Tap input pedal allows delay time to be set by foot
* Longer delay time than the original RE-201
* Control parameters such as REPEAT RATE, INTENSITY, and more via Expression pedal
* MODE SELECTOR knob with 12 placements just likes the original Space Echo
via Sonic State.
it's a good looking replica.
ReplyDeleteapril fools!
ReplyDeleteha ha
I've seen this on a bunch of forums and i'll say the same thing...if it doesnt have a tape loop in it it's not a space echo...my guess is a re packaged dd-20
ReplyDeleteyour space echos will be worth nothing now. so sell them all to ME! cheap of course. (evil laugh)
ReplyDeleteNo matter how it looks it will NEVER sound like a real tape.
ReplyDeleteI thought to myself, "I'll bet the comments are full of people adamantly exclaiming that it will never sound exactly like a real space echo..."
ReplyDeleteWhat do you know? I think I'm psychic. ;-)
Well I will exclaim that it is nothing more than another april fools joke just like the moog fm/mf.
ReplyDeleteHow can it possibly replace a $500+ Space Echo from eBay? Why, there's no worn heads, no nicotine buildup from that nonsmoking studio it was in, no missing knobs and torn tolex, and it'll actually echo when used because it doesn't rely on a broken tape loop to not make the echoes you paid half a grand for. People are going to feel really cheated by this thing...
ReplyDeleteI was hoping maybe that used UAD's algorithms from their plugin, which sounds fantastic, but I don't see a switch for how worn the tape is so I guess not.
ReplyDeleteeh, why bother when I have the real thing x2
ReplyDelete"It will never sound like a real space echo... until I sell mine on ebay!"
ReplyDeleteTo Mr. 6:04. If you are paying $500 dollars on ebay for a space echo than you are completely we-todd-ed!!! I got mine from a pawn shop locally for $25 mint, no way are they worth more than $150 even though they are amazing IMO. People who buy things like this for such ridiculous prices on ebay are the joke of the universe!!!! Hahaha, I laugh at you. You fell for our intergalactic joke that we call ebay, set up for stupid folk with excessive money to spend! Nothingmore, nothing less. Bwahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI got my space echoes for nothing more than buying the guy, a disgruntled wedding band guitarist who was way into Hawkwind, a gyro and fries with a pepsi.
ReplyDeleteI got my space echoes.. from SPACE! ;)
ReplyDeleteEven if it isn't an April Fools joke, this is nowhere near as interesting or versatile as a DD-20 (the BEST delay pedal/Looper -yes, LOOPER) Boss ever put out.
ReplyDeleteI doubt you can have two parallel 23 second stereo delay loops going on this one.
No pawn shop has a Space Echo or any vintage gear for $25 anymore, dumbass @ 11:11. They all check prices on Ebay.
ReplyDeleteIf you did in fact find one for $25 than you should consider yourself very lucky and not be a little shit about it.
I'd like to add that vintage hardware can be an INVESTMENT. With proper maintenance you will MAKE money on it if you ever decide to sell it (why would you?), which can't be said for software.
ReplyDeleteIts no April Fools, look at the roland site...http://www.roland.com/products/en/RE-20/index.html
ReplyDeleteHey 9:04, why do you have to resort to calling people curses? Oh wait, I know, because you are a weak little pussy in real life who likes to play internet tough guy behind your computer in mommies basement. Get a life man. This is a synth list not a "pretend to be a tough guy on the internet" list.
ReplyDeletewell moog also has their april fools joke on their website....
ReplyDeletea wise person once said, don't believe everything you read on the internets
It isn't an April Fools Joke, because it isn't funny.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is getting really messed up with all the trolls. Comming to this blog is leaving a bad taste in my mouth lately. In this thread there's trolls fighting trolls.
ReplyDeleteI am not a troll.
ReplyDeleteI'm a dwarf.
And as a dwarf, I don't understand why this isn't the RE-30 with chorus and sound on sound like the RE-301.
