To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.

He urges sellers to ship through UPS and FedEx. This is fine if you are selling within the United States, but as any of your Canadian readers probably already know, UPS and FedEx brokerage fees can be unreasonably high, I had to pay duty and $100 on a gift just because the package had been insured! I've even refused smaller items shipped via UPS at the door because the brokerage fee was higher than the price of the actual item...
ReplyDeleteIf you are nice enough to allow people outside the US to bid, please offer the option to ship via USPS.
Another "bonus" of sorts is that packages shipped through the USPS aren't always subject to import duty, especially when the item is marked "GIFT". UPS doesn't care, as they FORCE you to pay duty so they can complete their delivery faster.
USPS has size, weight and insurance restrictions UPS and Fedex don't have.
ReplyDeleteNot everything can be shipped by USPS.
Furthermore, packages sent by postal methods can incur longer delays in customs and provide less detailed tracking.
I pay taxes with usps to.
ReplyDeleteThe label doesn't matter gift or whatever.
You pay taxes over the declared/insured value and the shipping costs of the package.
I'm not talking about taxes...
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about $100.00 extra on a USED rackmount synth that cost $350.00 plus $45 shipping.
