It's an interesting piece just because of its obscurity, but it sounds very similiar to the Poly 800.
ReplyDeleteI actually have one of these little bad boys.
ReplyDeleteMore interesting than it's obscurity is the fact that *EVERY* parameter responds to a unique midi cc.
Check the files folder on the Atari MIDI Yahoo group for a file I created that has every parameter and the correspondoning midi cc.
I've got a Logic environment for it too if anyone wants it.
ReplyDeleteThe real bonus to this thing is that if you do happen across one outside of eBay, they're stupid cheap.
Thas right, I found mine at a "Daddy's Junky Music" about 7 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThey have an SSM Filter IC. There is a mod that replaces one of the resistors that sets the maximum resonance with a front panel mounted pot/knob that allows manually increasing the resonance. Since it's an SSM filter, it can *really* squeal and it will not oscillate.
