MOOG Little Phatty Darkside

via Amos of MOOG Music and Future Wars, on the AH list:

"I just wanted to share some pics of this... I got a local company to put a black anodized finish on the aluminum back panel of my LP (was not expensive, either!) and had my buddy at the graphics shop down the hall make a gloss-black Moog logo to go with the satin black finish.

I say this is in-progress because now the end caps look incongruous... my two favorite ideas for how to finish them is either to have solid CNC-machined aluminium ends made (difficult, expensive) or go with wood ends stained in a black/graphite finish."

Title link takes you to more shots. Note if you saw this on AH, there are more shots in this set. I asked Amos if I could back them up and put up a post. He gave me the thumbs up and gave me the links to more shots.

  1. It was only a matter of time! First the tribute edition..then the stage edition and now the Amos edition!..looks nice!

  2. The LP back is so unusual but I think it works great. Kind of what a cool futuristic retro vision of what an instrument would look like.

And this was a pristine job. Good game, Amos!

  3. Looks sick Amos...

My first thought was go for the aluminum endcaps...but then I was thinking why not go over the top, and get a dark blue colore lucite? you could even have it edge lit...

    looks great, though....

  4. I think it's way sleeker than the production version. Use your Moogy influence to get it made for everyone!

  5. Yes this is nice, better than the tribute model with the silly huge fake signature sticker on the back.
I'd really consider buying this dark vader edition.

  6. fake signature...is that possible?
overenlarged and reproduced by machines....but i wouldn't use the word fake...

  7. someone on the AH list just suggested *carbon fiber* end caps... that would be super sweet! how hard is carbon fiber to work with anyway?

Thanks a bunch for the nice comments...
