That's insane
ReplyDeleteWhat a relic .. very English!
ReplyDeleteI love how the idea that a computer can't "feel" is slowly becoming sillier and sillier seeming to us.
ReplyDeleteThe more things change, the more they stay the same.
ReplyDelete"Let's have tea with the Human League."
ReplyDeletethat was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI think the only guy there who grasped the emulator was Mr. Humphreys with the crazy Cosby sweater. I loved how Phil kept doing the take like "no, i didn't say that..". he clearly felt out of place.
This reminded me of the excellent Made In Sheffield which covers early Human League, Clock DVA, ABC, Cab Voltaire, etc. A bit all over the place but very charming. The accompanying book is even more scattershot (jumps from subject to subject, so it's hard to follow the Human League or Clock DVA thread) but also really cool.
ReplyDeleteSome incredibly passive aggressive. LOL....
ReplyDeleteThat whitehair guy is cool for sure.
ReplyDeleteI miss that era of TV. Esp. British TV and Public TV.
Super smart people being classy and cool. (well, some of them).
a cup of tea and an emulator go on a TV show...
ReplyDeletethis looks like it should have been on Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy :-)
ReplyDeleteI like how he handled himself. That must have been an awfully wierd environment for him to be in and he didn't let those ladies railroad him into agreeing to any of those lame comments. You can almost see the confidence and awareness that guy had that allowed him to head up the band and make a career of it.
ReplyDeleteI agree that older guy is cool too - and well spoken.
I like how The Human League is still around, and totally has not sold out.
ReplyDeleteFreaking awesome.
