I didn't realize the Voyager's had this flash screen. Anyone know when it was introduced?

That's creepy.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong but isn't it clearly documented in Analog Days and other books that Bob Moog didn't "invent" the MiniMoog and was actually against the idea and that some employees (forget the names right now) put it the first one together in their spare time? Yes it was his company but I just think its odd that all the props go to Bob.
ReplyDeleteNot all probs go to Bob, but that's the way it works when it's your name up there.
ReplyDeleteMatrix, I thought you had a Voyager.
No? Or doesn't yours have this screen?
He might not have put the original minimoog together, but he did design all the circuits that comprised the original minimoog (VCO, VCF, VCA). Those probably have more to do with the famous sound than the connections made between them.
ReplyDeleteTHat is the original splash screen.
ReplyDeleteit's creepy as hell.
ReplyDeletei remember on the forums when they were talking about doing the splash screen....
ReplyDeleteI think it happened somewhere around the 50th anniversary...
It's important to never listen to your employees so you can give them reason to leave, create their own companies, and execute their visions from the captains seat.
ReplyDeleteIt's how the nestlings leave :)
omg i can't handle how creepy that is!!!!!!!!1
ReplyDeleteNope. Mine doesn't.
ReplyDeleteWhy is that creepy? I find it creepy that *you* find that creepy. Give drugs no chance!
ReplyDelete@Matrix:
I have the newest OS3.3 installed, maybe that´s why it has this welcome screen.
@Ano: Who cares if he didn´t "invent" the Minimoog. He created, together with his team, the Minimoog Voyager. And the original circuitry design is by him. That´s why all Moog synths have this special wooden sound, that´s so rich and juicy. Almost sometimes even like a cello.
Not really creepy, but it is a pretty fucked up looking likeness.
ReplyDeleteIt looks familiar. I think the moog forum or Squarewave group came up with that bitmap and Moog made a custom boot ROM for them, or something.
ReplyDeleteWhat is creepy is after staring at it for a while, i could swear that it blinked at me...am i crazy?
ReplyDeleteyou can feel the eyes following you around the studio..yes it definately blinked it's eyes..is this normal ? i'm afraid too turn it on again.
