Update: BTW, if you have an opinion on the mods vs. leaving the 606 as is feel free to comment. I'm a bit of a purist myself however if a mod can leave the original in tact and add on top of it, I'd probably be for it. If you add MIDI, why not add other things.

Did find this via my AH post? Maybe non-AHers with modded 606s can answer my Q...
ReplyDeleteHe gets nearly all of his blog entries from ebay and AH.

Thanks mc, I'll put that up with tomorrow's set of posts.
ReplyDeleteAdam s, yep, I checked out the link when you posted that on AH. I didn't put up your question as you did not send this to me to ask. I put up the post because I found the site interesting and I haven't posted it before. You don't have an issue with that do you?
Not sure I understand the point anon.
anon- so what?
ReplyDeletemc- cool!
matrix- haha no. Rock on.
Thanks adam s. I went ahead and added the question to the post. Not sure if anyone will see it at this point though, but... we'll see. : )
ReplyDeleteas an owner of a 606 i'd say sure. it has the best hi-hats but the rest could use some work.
ReplyDeletei've opened it up before. not for the faint of heart. i can't picture anyone modding a large number affordably. it's too hard to beat buying a 707. it's cheap, more sounds, and it will synch the 606 to midi and trigger an sh-101. i'm actually hoping not all the 707s have been bent. i've seen so many videos of bent 707s. it's kind of a key piece.
